Reading in Kindergarten are primarily based on phonics, verbal comprehension, reading fluency, vocabulary building and following instructions. A foundation of beginning skills are taught, as kindergarteners learn through guided lessons, direct teaching and the exploration of fundamentals with specific focus on the alphabet and letter sounds, phonemic awareness, and rhyming words. Through a series of pre- reading, reading, comprehension, and prewriting activities, students will further develop strategies such as recalling details, drawing conclusions, and summarizing stories. Kindergarten culminates with a thorough review of phonics, highlighting letter and sound recognition.

Ang asignaturang ito ay pinagsanib na aralin sa wika at pagbasa na lumilinang sa sa iba’t- ibang kasanayan sa pakikipagtalastasan tulad ng pakikinig, pagsasalita, pagbasa, pagsulat, gayundin ang mapanuring isip. Ang mga paksa, gawain at pagsasanay ay sadyang iniangkop sa kakayahan at interes ng mga mag- aaral upang maging makabuluhan, kawiliwili at napapanahon sa pagkatuto. Isinisiguro na sa bawat aralin ay nabibigyan pansin at kaukulang pagpapahalaga ang mga mag- aaral na makatutulong sa pag angat ng moralidad ng perpetualite bilang Pilipino na may pagpapahalaga at pagmamahal sa Diyos, sa pamilya, sa kapwa at sa bayan.

Christian Living is focused in the development of the pupils’ spiritual, moral, social, and emotional development. It also focuses the pupils’ attention on God the creator and the giver of all gifts, thus, inculcating to the pupils’ young minds the love of God, self, family and neighbor. It provides learning experiences which aim to develop the character of the child with emphasis on the virtues of responsibility, personal discipline, and respect for one’s self and others. The value of Catholic Doctrines is also being introduced including love and respect for Mary as mother of God and our mother too and our Mother of Perpetual Help, molding each learner as “Helper of God” who shows concern to others as a Filipino Christian Leader who is conscious and concern of his health and the environment. Christian Living offered each grade level helps the pupils respond in faith at their own level of maturity. Different approaches and strategies suited to each lesson and to the pupils’ learning abilities through multi-media technology are used. Various activities are based from real life situations to enhance the pupils’ learning to think critically preparing them to respond accordingly to a variety of experiences while carrying out the guiding principle of the university – “Character Building is nation Building”.

Kindergarten students are naturally inquisitive. Add to this the fact that rote numbering comes easily to them. This course joins curiosity and fact in an effective way by providing many colorful, hands-on activities to broaden initial memorized numbering skills and introduce the intricacies mathematics. Pupils are expected to name, identify, classify, compare, describe and explain involved in the whole numbers concept, measuring, and in their physical environments and relate easily to geometric ideas around them.

Science and Health hinges the pupils on the relationship of man as human being and the environment where he lives. It covers life science which include a thorough study of the study of the human body and other living things like animals and plants; physical science which is about matte, energy, machine force and motion; and earth science which is concerned with the earth, its weather and the space beyond. The approaches used provide experiential learning to the pupils, helping them understand the nature of his total environment and its effect on everyday life. Lessons are presented through different techniques suited to the pupils’ inquisitives mind using multimedia technology and integrating the Perpetualite Core Values. Such techniques and strategies let the pupils experiences, explore, and expose themselves to real life situations and develop the child’s ability to think critically and creatively in responding to real life situation. Each classroom activity helps the learners realize the importance of loving God, oneself, family, and neighbors through various activities which would help them analyze, synthesize, compare the contrast the concepts learned. Science and Health as one of the core subjects helps in the total development of an individual, physically, intellectually, emotionally, and socially. It contributes in developing the totality of a dynamic Perpetualite who shows health and global consciousness and promotes and support the conversation of nature.
